While a lot of today’s Nintendo Direct featured announcements for games, such as new features or release dates, Yoshi’s New Island was mostly there just to show off what you can expect when it comes out in a little over a month on March 14.
The Direct itself had Satoru Iwata discussing the game a good bit, including the fact that the game features no time limit, which allows you to fully explore the levels. Two power-ups were also showcased, including the Jackhammer and Submarine, which are controlled with the 3DS’ gyroscope.
Nintendo separately released a trailer showing off many of the various locations we will visit in the game, which look better and better the more I see of them. You can watch both the segment from the Nintendo Direct, as well as the new trailer below:
