Square Enix says Final Fantasy XV is far in development and is a high priority for the company.
Final Fantasy XV producer Yoshinori Kitase told the following in an interview with Video Gamer:
We can’t give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it’s not as if it’s in competition with Kingdom Hearts 3 for resources or anything like that. It’s quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn’t mean Kingdom Hearts isn’t.
From the sounds of that, Final Fantasy XV will be released first and Kingdom Hearts III will be out after that.
Final Fantasy XV has been technically worked on since 2006 when it was then called Final Fantasy Versus XIII. At last year’s E3, the project was renamed XV and the game will now be released for PS4 and Xbox One instead of just the PS3.
Hopefully Square Enix can release the game later this year.
