Rumors have emerged that we will be seeing a new Battlefield game this year, although it isn’t going to be Battlefield 5. After ditching Medal of Honor, EA has refocused its efforts on Battlefield (along with Battlefront and Titanfall) and has been looking for ways to annualize this important property. If rumors are to be believed, the publisher may be going a similar route that Activision has taken with the Call of Duty series.
Dead Space developer Visceral Games is said to be heading a project codenamed Havana, which is reportedly a police-themed Battlefield title targeting a 2014 release date. This would free up DICE to work on a 2015 entry, most likely Battlefield 5 (although we can pray for Bad Company 3). DICE has gone on record stating that they could not build a new Battlefield game every year by themselves, a reality which might have led EA to search for another developer to help create a separate continuity while DICE maintains a two year cycle for their games.
The evidence further stacks in this rumor’s favor when one looks at Visceral Games’ recent hiring of notable FPS developers — Guerrilla’s Arjan Brussee and 343 Industries’ Scott Warner — for a “next gen shooter”. If a 2014 Battlefield game is underway, we should have the first details on it in the coming months. Stay tuned!

I certainly hope not, they are finished fixing battlefield 4, and they never finished Warfighter (and that’s being optimistic). Frankly battlefront 3 is still rumor, they haven’t confirmed that they are going to make and Titanfall is an Xbox title. So what shooter will come out in fall for PS3 &4? Honestly it doesn’t matter, I won’t buy it. EA hasn’t produced a glitch-free game in years everything from Seed For Speed, Dead Space, Sims, to any of their first person shooters has bugs all over them.
