Super Smash Bros. just unveiled a returning veteran to the series on Friday with Lucario. After seeming like mostly a clone of what Mewtwo was previously, when Lucario was in Brawl, it appears that Lucario is getting a major upgrade. One piece of that revolves around his Aura Sphere attack.
While Aura Sphere grew in size the longer you charged it in the past, it appears that it can get even more powerful this time around, according to Masahiro Sakurai.
Pic of the day. A size comparison of Lucario’s standard special attack, Aura Sphere, in its weakest and strongest states. The attack is faster and more powerful when the Aura Sphere is bigger.
Hopefully this is only the beginning of Lucario’s upgraded arsenal of moves. Based on past trends on the updates following a reveal, we may find out more this week.

February 3, 2014 at 11:17 PMI guess my wording was a little confusing there. Meant it as Lucario was mostly a clone of Mewtwo, when Lucario was in Brawl. And I’m really glad they are making some changes, so I’m hoping the other moves are completely different from the original.
