Alongside Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, a new Castlevania game may well be in the works.
Konami has trademarked Harmony of Despair in Europe. While no other information is available at this point, certain guesses could be made. The title fits the same formula the Castlevania games have been using (e.g. Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow). Also, the title is strangely similar to 2002’s Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance released for the Gameboy Advance. A direct sequel or remake perhaps?
Considering the last released side-scrolling Castlevania game was Order of Ecclesia back in 2008, another handheld side-scrolling Castlevania adventure seems likely at this point (probably in tandem with Lords of Shadow being developed for consoles). Of course, this is all speculation at this point, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more details arrive.
