It has been a little while since we had a brand new item revealed for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, but Masahiro Sakurai decided to go ahead and introduce a new one tonight that is taken directly from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
In what was actually one of the first pieces of gameplay footage we ever saw of Skyward Sword, Link was shown using a Beetle weapon that you could control as it moved across the sky. Now, that item is being brought into the Super Smash Bros. universe.

This item seems to have a lot of potential, especially for some hilarity in team combat if it has friendly fire, which could mess up some good friendships as a result.
