Capcom has commented that developing games on PS4 and Xbox One is much longer than before.
Capcom senior manager Masaru Ijuin said the following during an interview with OXM.UK:
It’s clear that heightened game quality leads to a rise in the number of man hours. The amount of work involved in making games for next-gen consoles is eight to ten times greater than what is required for the current generation of consoles.
The first next-gen offering from Capcom is the PS4 exclusive Deep Down. The game uses a new engine and is looking very pretty indeed. Deep Down is set to be released very soon.

January 11, 2014 at 8:05 PMSurely this was to be expected initially though as studios still have to get to grips with a whole new development environment and how they can fully get the most out of the hardware of the newest gen of consoles!
I can only imagine that this development cycle will take a hell of a long time getting used to but after the big game studios have fully fleshed out their new game engines things should be back to normal.
