The last outing for the Alien franchise in gaming was a colossal failure, but a leaked last night for a game titled Alien: Isolation on the Xbox Games Store gave fans of the franchise some new hope, as it appeared to be a game type that would greatly fit the universe, a survival horror game. Just mere hours after the leak, Sega of Europe officially unveiled Alien: Isolation.
This time around, you will take control of Amanda Ridley, the daughter of the original Alien lead Ellen Ridley, who has been missing since Amanda’s 11th birthday, 15 years ago. This game is the definition of survival horror as you must scavenge for the very few items around to protect yourself from the threat of the enemies.
The Xbox Games Store leak said that the game would include multiplayer and co-op features, but that has been confirmed to be a mistake as it doesn’t fit the survival horror genre too well if you have a partner to make it easier. You can check out both of the reveal trailers as well as some screenshots and artwork from the game in the gallery below those.
