Some were disappointed when it was announced that Mario Kart 8 would be coming in spring 2014, rather than this holiday season, and after the new trailer that debuted during today’s Nintendo Direct, that wait is going to feel even longer.
In what looks like it could be the best looking game on the Wii U, Mario Kart 8 looks to deliver the Mario Kart experience we all know and love, but with tons of new levels and fun. One level we see takes place at a airport that goes from inside the building to out on the tarmac and flying around through the air avoiding airplanes. The glider system from Mario Kart 7 makes a return and looks to be utilized very well.
We also see the return of Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Baby Peach and Baby Daisy this time around. The beautifully orchestrated Super Mario Galaxy series has some music used on tracks in the game to further enhance the experience. Just talking about it doesn’t do it enough justice, so watch the video below to see for yourself.
