The upcoming Super Smash Bros., coming to both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, has slowly been unveiling content through their official website. This has included characters, items, and stages, but so far had not shown any new Assist Trophies, a very fun addition to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. That all changed today as the site was updated with a brand new Assist Trophy, the Skull Kid.
The Assist Trophies work like Poke Balls, where you pick them up and throw them, leading to the character inside appearing on the battlefield for a period of time. Now we have the new Skull Kid trophy to add to the mix, straight from The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Masahiro Sakurai posted the above image with the description “Pic of the day. Here’s a new Assist Trophy–the Skull Kid! I repeat, it’s an Assist Trophy, not a new fighter. The characters announced on the website are the fighters!”
With the hints to Majora’s Mask in the new The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and now Skull Kid in Super Smash Bros., hopefully this means that an HD remake of Majora’s Mask will be coming in the future.
