Ever since the PlayStation Network hack a few years ago, Sony has made a staunch effort to have a very safe and secure online system. Now today, they reset the passwords for some PlayStation Network accounts due to what they are calling “irregular activity.”
Sony sent emails to those who had their passwords reset, with the following reason given for the password reset:
The Sony Entertainment Network team routinely monitors for any irregular activity, and if such activity is detected, we may sometimes reset passwords of affected accounts to protect consumers and their account information.
From what Sony is saying, this seems to mostly be a precautionary step just to make sure nothing happens like before.
