Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is one of the most anticipated upcoming titles, with the game’s prologue already set for release sometime this spring. Now Hideo Kojima, when interviewed by Weekly Famitsu, discussed a few things about the game, including why he chose to release the prologue separately and the teasing of a release window
The main game –The Phantom Pain – is extremely massive and is still going to take a while. I discussed the situation with the marketing team and after much deliberation decided at least to let people play the prologue.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a multiplatform title unlike it’s predecessor, which was a PlayStation 3 exclusive, but Kojima chose to mention that “it looks like we’ll be able to release The Phantom Pain around the time that the PlayStation 4 becomes widely adapted.”
Due to the fact that these comments were given at the PlayStation 4 launch event a couple weeks ago, I wouldn’t read too much into the fact that he didn’t mention the Xbox 360 or Xbox One version at all.
