Super Mario 3D World adds Rosalina as playable character

Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct today that was supposed to be exclusively about upcoming titles on the 3DS for the near future, but they just couldn’t resist showing off the upcoming Super Mario 3D World for Wii U with a new trailer to end the Direct. This trailer was known as 10 New Things in Super Mario 3D World. Perhaps the biggest of which was number 10, the ability to unlock Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy as a playable character and be able to utilize her spin attack in battle.

The trailer will of course be linked below, but for those that cannot watch it right now, here is a rundown of the 10 new things about Super Mario 3D World.

1. Touchscreen and Microphone Gameplay
-Interact with stages using the touchscreen and microphone
2. Golden Express Stage
-Catch a ride on a golden train overflowing with coins
3. Captain Toad Levels
-Collect 5 stars in a puzzling 3D world without jumping
4. Speed Run Levels
-Rush to the end with the clock set to 100
5. Mystery Houses
-Complete rapid-fire challenges for green stars
6. Motley Boss BLob
-Take on a giant boss as an ever-growing army of clones
7. Top-Down Shooter Stage
-Cut down waves of enemies in an old-school shooter level
8. Kart-Style Stage
-Dash to the finish Mario Kart style
9. Unlockable Bonus Game
-If you have new Super Luigi U save data you can play Luigi Bros. right out of the box
10. Unlockable 5th Character
-Play as Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy and use her spin attack
