The Mario & Sonic at the Olympics series has been around since the Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008 with biennial releases to coincide with both the Summer and Winter Olympics each year since. The latest version, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, is going to require quite a good chunk of your Wii U hard drive space if you are choosing to go digital from the Wii U eShop this time around.
Compared to our news of Super Mario 3D World only being 1,674 MB, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games is a hefty 8,586 MB, or roughly 8.6 GB. While I said that you should have plenty of room for the former, the latest Mario & Sonic title may be best served to pick up on disc if you can due to this file size.
The game will take a long time to download and takes up over 1/4 of your entire hard drive if you bought the 32 GB system. If you only have the basic system, you won’t even have room for it unless you use an external HDD or very large SD card.
Keep this in mind when you decide which version of Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games to get this coming Friday, November 15.
