Closed gaming community NeoGAF, known for its early reveals for both Microsoft and Sony’s console releases, has been abuzz with speculation regarding the graphical prowess of Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts.
With the numerous checks done by forum moderators on NeoGAF whenever gaming rumors pop up, there has been quite a bit of speculation regarding the authenticity of a particular rumor. The idea in question: Does Ghosts only run at 720p on Xbox One versus 1080p on Sony’s PS4?
Typically when rumors pop up on one side or the other, NeoGAF moderators typically step in to silence any untrue rumors in pretty quick. A few threads have been fairly vocal on the supposed inferiority of Microsoft’s next gen platform with a large group of forum members, including some with supposed ties to Respawn and Activision. You can check out a couple of the large discussion threads here and here.
One big thing to take away from all of the discussions is how Activision is using the Playstation 4 version of the guild for most of IGN’s videos. Typically IGN uses the lead platform when previewing games, of which Call of Duty is known for primarily being shown on the Xbox 360 for this exact reason.
If these rumors end up being true and the Xbox One version really is running at a lower frame rate, will that affect your purchasing decision? Leave us a comment below!

October 23, 2013 at 2:09 PMMicrosoft, who provided the following statement: “Xbox One fully supports native 1080p output at 60 fps. It is up to individual developers to determine what resolution best fits their design goals. At launch, Xbox One will present all titles at 1080p—whether natively or upscaled.” – This was just last week…
