As we have learned with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, the series is aiming for an annual release with most having a different setting from the last. The latest installment, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is set in the Caribbean, but the game’s director Ashraf Ismail has weighed in on where he would like to see a future game in the series be set.
I’m not saying we are going there, but one day I would love to explore Egypt as a setting for this game. Ancient Egypt could be a really cool place. We have a really cool explanation for how we can do this, and it is with this Animus device that allows us to go to anytime in history.
Ismail makes a point to say that this is just what he would like to see, but if someone involved with the game would like it, you would think it’s at least a decent possibility for a new location. As he mentions, the Animus allows the franchise to go anywhere they want, especially with Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag being set before Assassin’s Creed 3. This means that a game in Egypt could be set way back in the past.
I love this franchise and personally really like the idea of seeing one set in Egypt at some point. This would allow for lots of cool exploration moments.
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be available on November 29 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. A release will follow for PC on November 19 and at launch for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
