As a result of the upcoming release of Monster Hunter 4 on the Nintendo 3DS on September 14 in Japan only, Nintendo held a new Nintendo Direct on Sunday focused specifically on the game. As has been done in other series in the past on Nintendo platforms, Monster Hunter 4 will have special costumes based on a few Nintendo characters.
The Direct shows off two characters in a Mario and Luigi costume each using hammers, which is a popular aspect of the Mario & Luigi series. After that we also see someone in a costume based off of Link holding what looks like the Master Sword and a bow. This of course is a very neat addition to the game for those that are fans of those Nintendo franchises.
The costumes based off of Mario and Luigi will be able to be downloaded in Japan at 7-Elevens, but a date was not given at this time. The Link costume and weapons shown will be available for download, but no details were given on if it would be done in the same was as the Mario and Luigi costumes or not. That information will be revealed at a later time.
Monster Hunter 4 will be available on September 14 for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
