Today marks the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on both the PS3 and PC and due to overwhelming popular demand for the game, servers are experiencing congestion due to many people logging in at the same time.
Since the early access opened up on Saturday, all servers in North America and Europe have been experiencing server congestion due to so many people trying to log in simultaneously. To prevent the server from crashing, they enforced a limit on how many people can log in to maintain a stable environment, although it annoys so many people since they can’t play. To further prevent the disappointment and madness for future potential customers, Square Enix decided to halt all of the digital sales in order to control how many people can play at the moment.
Here’s the official announcement Square Enix released through their official Facebook Fan Page.
