One of the most unique titles to be shown off for the Playstation 3 over the last year was definitely Sony Japan Studio’s very stylized Rain. Today it was announced that the action-adventure game will be released on October 1 on the Playstation Network. The downloadable title will be available for $14.99.
The most interesting part of Rain is the setting, as you are a lone boy in a mysterious city where it is constantly raining. The surprising part is that the main character is actually invisible, with the only thing that can be seen is his outline from the rain running off his body. You control him as he explores this city while he looks for another girl, who appears to have the same condition as the protagonist. While doing this, you will also have to avoid enemies throughout the city.
One of the most important elements of the game that has been touted is the soundtrack, and how it mixes the sound of the rain with the mood and atmosphere of that point of the game. Today, Sony released a developer diary video where the developers discuss how they went about choosing how to make the music such an integral part of Rain.
