Konami has decided not to release PES 2014 on the PS4 and Xbox One for the time being.
Konami’s Manorito Hosoda has stated in an interview with CVG:
“We’re not sure how quickly the uptake of the next generation will go. The fan base is with the current gen, and before moving on we want to make a good game with the new engine.”
This make obvious sense considering both the PS3 and Xbox 360 have sold well over 70 million units each. This is the main reason Sony decided to release Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3 because of the already huge user-base.
PES 2014 is being built using Konami’s new Fox engine and the game looks impressive on PS3 and Xbox 360 anyway.
Konami might release PES 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One when the install base increases throughout 2014 and beyond.
Football/Soccer fans will have to make do with FIFA 14 on the PS4 and Xbox One later this year to get their next-generation fix.
