Video games retailer Gamestop has welcomed the good news that the Xbox One will now have no restrictions in regards to sharing and reselling video games.
Gamestop announced in a statement:
“GameStop welcomes today’s announcement from Microsoft about changes in functionality for its next-generation console, the Xbox One. This is great news for gamers and we applaud Microsoft for understanding consumers and the importance of the pre-owned market.”
Gamestop’s business thrived on the reselling of video game software. Most of their customers traded in old games so they could afford new ones. Not to mention the ability to resell video games have existed for over 30 years now. Obviously consumers hated the change Microsoft wanted to make and it’s great that they changed their policy.
