Nintendo announced today via their Direct presentation that sometime next week, a huge Spring System Update will go live for the Nintendo Wii U.
In the update, one of the added features that Nintendo is implementing in their console is the ability to download games while playing or doing other things on the Nintendo Wii U. That means, the background-download will be enabled, along with the ability to download them even though the system is powered off. Also, users will finally be able to transfer data between USB drives. As for the slow loading times between the UI of the console, it will also be improved when the update comes out next week.
One of the biggest feature to arrive in the Spring System Update for the Nintendo Wii U is the inclusion of the Virtual Console. When it goes live next week, Wii U owners can finally download classic games straight from the eShop at a discounted price.
