Namco Bandai has just announced it will be releasing a Ridge Racer Driftopia which will be the first free to play title in the series.
It is developed by Bugbear Entertainment and will be available for both the PC and PS3 sometime later this year. Much like other free to play titles, Ridge Racer Driftopia will allow gamers to purchase/pay for additional content via microtransactions.
Namco Bandai senior vice president Olivier Comte commented:
“Free-to-play is playing an increasingly important role, so it’s very exciting to be bringing one of our most successful franchises to the free-to-play space for everyone to enjoy.”
