Paul Thurrott from the “What The Tech” podcast has apparently spilled the beans on a ton of Xbox 720 information.
According to Thurrott, Microsoft plans to reveal the Xbox 720 for the first time during a special event on May 21st. It is planned for release in November 2013 and won’t offer any backwards compatibility.
The normal price of the Xbox 720 will be $500 while a subscription based model base will go for $300.
Most people are wondering if the “always online” rumors are true. Thurrott mentioned in his notes that it says “must be internet-connected to use”. That’s all of the information he was given he said.
He did not talk about whether or not the device will be able to play “used games” or not though.
Take this information as a grain of salt until Microsoft hopefully unveils official information on the Xbox 720 this May. Hopefully the company can deny or confirm if all of the negative rumors of the console is true or not…
