When THQ was auctioning/selling off its remaining assets in January, no game company wanted to purchase the Darksiders franchise. It looks like Crytek USA might be interested.
As revealed on Destructoid, Vigil co-founder Ryan Stefanelli told the site that Crytek USA plans to pick up Darksiders when the IP goes up for auction once again in April.
“When the Darksiders IP goes up for auction, Crytek will be bidding for it,” he said. “Not much more to say since the rest is left up to courts and legal shenanigans, but we’re all excited at the prospect.”
This is also confirmed by Crytek USA CEO David Adams who tweeted the following:
“Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators.”
Hopefully this means Crytek will take the franchise further and we’ll see Darksiders 3 on the PS4 or Xbox 720. One can hope that this comes true.

It is in my opinion one of the best games ever made, period! Its up their with Bioshock,Uncharted,Gears,God of War etc……… And can you imagine Darksiders 3 powered by the most powerful game engine, Cryengine 3!!!
