Bungie recently announced that Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and its free-to-play version New Light has been delayed from its original September 17 release to October.
Both Shadowkeep and the free-to-play version New Light will now be released on October 1st. According to Bungie, the reason behind the delay is to polish both products to provide fans quality experience. With the Shadowkeep expansion delayed, it means that the raid, Garden of Salvation, has also been delayed. It will now launch on October 5 instead.
To compensate fans for the delay, Bungie will be extending the Moments of Triump Event to September 17. This means that players will now have an extra three weeks to complete the year’s challenges and earn rewards.
In addition, the Iron Banner will return for one final time this season during the week of September 17. For the Cross-Save feature that has been announced before, it will still launch this Summer, giving players time to sort out your friend lists well ahead of Shadowkeep.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be available on October 1 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
