The nice thing about summer is the ability to catch up on things. TEPPEN is an interesting card game, Days Gone has found some popularity with the community, there are some nifty VR games, Switch just got Super Mario Maker 2, but this is not to say there is nothing noteworthy releasing this week.
God Eater 3, the more action oriented and less technical Monster Hunter-esque game, hits Switch. Games like this just make sense on portable consoles and it’s fantastic to see it return following the end of Vita. Switch owners also have the rather odd Senran Kagura: Peach Ball. It combines sexy mechanics with pinball of all things. It was actually an oddly enjoyable game, at least based off what we saw at E3, though how much longevity it has is anyones guess.
For those not looking for a more adult experience, Dragon Quest Builders 2 aims to offer a more wholesome and fun experience. Set in the ever fun world of Dragon Quest, it’s a cute title designed around fixing problems and exploring the world. Skeptical players can download the demo on PlayStation 4 and Switch.
