As we are nearing the release of the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3 for the PlayStation 4, Square Enix will be releasing a true compilation of all Kingdom Hearts titles into one package called, Kingdom Hearts: The Story so Far.
Here is an overview of the game:
In Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far, Keyblade wielders can relive the magical adventures of Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy and friends as they attempt to stop the Heartless invasion that threatens their universe. Fans will travel to iconic Disney locales and join forces with beloved Disney and Final Fantasy characters in order to fight back against the threat of darkness and bring back light to all worlds.
The compilation includes the following games:
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix
- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)
- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue
- Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
- Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–
- Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (movie)
Unfortunately, the Kingdom Hearts: Story So Far is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. It is not coming for the Xbox One, despite the fact that Kingdom Hearts 3 is coming to Xbox One early next year as well. It sure is disappointing as many Xbox fans will surely want to play the game where it all started.
For those who want to join the hype train on Kingdom Hearts 3 and would like to know how it all started, definitely consider purchasing the Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far as every single Kingdom Hearts game is compiled into one package. Though if you have the previous compilation before that Square Enix released, there is no reason to get this one as it’s more of the same thing.
Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far will be available exclusively for PlayStation 4 on October 30 and will retail for $39.99. As for Kingdom Hearts 3, it will be released in January 2019 for Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Check back with us near the release date for our review coverage.
