Sony has now announced that the PlayStation VR unit it released back in October 2016 has now sold over 3 million units worldwide. This is quite an achievement considering the VR unit costs nearly as much money as a PS4 console itself.
Sony made the monumental announcement via its official PlayStation Blog. You can read part of today’s announcement posted down below.
“We are excited to reveal today that Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially sold-through more than three million PlayStation VR systems worldwide, along with 21.9 million PS VR games and experiences. We’d like to thank all our fans for the amazing support, and we’re thrilled that so many of our gamers have experienced the magic of VR and stepped into the captivating worlds that electrify our senses“.
Sony is not stopping there because there will be more PlayStation VR games released this Fall. Coming out on September 25th, 2018 is Creed: Rise to Glory. This is a game based on the Rocky movie franchise as players assume the role of Adonis Creed. It will test out your boxing skills and it’s being released to help promote the Creed 2 movie out this November.
Another PSVR video game fans can get is called Evasion. This is a cool looking science fiction based shooter. The release date for this particular game is October 9th, 2018.

Lastly, Sony announced it is holding a sale for numerous PSVR video games on the PlayStation Store. The sale runs from now until August 28th. If you are a PlayStation Plus member, you will see further discounts saving you more even money!
