QuakeCon 2018 has happened and id Software has now released the first ever gameplay footage for DOOM Eternal. Three gameplay demos have been released and the gameplay is looking fast and very fun.
If you liked DOOM in 2016, DOOM Eternal will be more of the same but with lots of cool new features. Hell has arrived on Earth and the levels look much larger compared to previous games in the series. One of the stages has many different levels meaning you’re not just walking on the ground all of the time.
The gameplay also shows us that the main character has a grappling hook to travel with. Sure you can be fast as Spider-Man, but it’s a helpful tool to get away from danger or let’s you jump behind enemies. In either case, the grappling hook looks like one of the most versatile tools in the entire game.
id Software is promising that the game should be a stable 60fps on most platforms and single player DLC is also already planned for post launch. Anyway, you can read a small overview of the game as posted in a press release below.
“Developed by id Software, DOOM® Eternal™ is the direct sequel to the award-winning and best-selling DOOM® (2016). Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power with the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat. As the DOOM Slayer, return to take your vengeance against the forces of Hell. Set to an all-new pulse pounding soundtrack composed by Mick Gordon, fight across dimensions as you slay new and classic demons with powerful new weapons and abilities.”
There will be many more weapons and big enemies for you to kill in the new game and you can check them all out in the video posted below. Make sure to watch through all of it to see how awesome this game will be.
