Current WWE Champion AJ Styles has now posted on his official Twitter account the first ever screenshot of WWE 2K19. It shows a brief look at AJ Styles’ character model in the game during his entrance when he’s about to walk his way into the wrestling ring.
AJ Styles tweeted the following message: “As #WWE2K19 cover Superstar, I have dibs on releasing the first screenshot.” The cool thing about the screenshot is the fact that we can also see the render of the WWE Championship title that he is current wearing around his waist.
Sadly, no other screenshots or videos from the WWE 2K19 video game have been shared at this time. From the looks of the screenshot, it appears the game will have similar character models and is based on the same game engine 2K used for last year’s WWE 2K18 video game.
This is not really a bad thing about the graphics in last year’s WWE 2K18 was pretty good. The game used a then new game engine that made skin color appear more realistic compared to the plastic look of the previous games. What will be more interesting to see is what new wrestlers look like in 2K19. Everyone is very eager to see what Ronda Rousey looks like!
Anyway, it’s interesting that 2K Games has only shared the first screenshot of the game just two months prior to the game’s release. 2K Games is marketing the game quite late this year as a full roster reveal has yet to be announced either. Hopefully they announce the full roster very soon as it’s expected to have the largest roster ever assembled in a wrestling game ever.
WWE 2K19 releases October 9th, 2018. If you buy the Collector’s Edition, that version comes out first on October 5th, 2018. The game will be available for you to buy on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Update: 2K Games posted another screenshot for WWE 2K19. It’s of AJ Styles again.
