As you might know already, Final Fantasy 7 Remake was first announced by Square Enix three years ago at E3 2015. However, some people think the game was announced too early as the game is far from being finished. There is a valid reason why Square Enix announced the game in early fashion though.
Tetsuya Nomura revealed to Italian magazine Multiplayer (via KHInsider) that the main reason Final Fantasy 7 Remake was announced early is to combat any early leaks from coming out.
He said: “The same thing happened with the remake of Final Fantasy 7. I am well aware of the fact that we announced it too early, but even in the industry, word was beginning to spread that we were working on the game, so we just decided not to keep it more secret and officially reveal it.”
Sadly, it looks like there is no release window for the remake so we will just have to wait a long time until the game is fully released. Square Enix is concentrating on releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 in January 2019 instead before more work gets done on the FF7 Remake.
