Streaming is normally associated with watching TV shows and movies, but it’s possible to do with gaming as well as seen with Sony’s PlayStation Now service. Well now it looks like you can stream games on Nintendo Switch because Resident Evil 7 is releasing on the console now.
Capcom has now announced that Resident Evil 7 will be released as a cloud based streaming game on the Nintendo Switch eliminating the need for you to download the game’s huge file size. Nintendo has described what a cloud based game is like below.
“By downloading the special application, you can easily play the game without downloading the large amount of game data. Since the game information is always received from the cloud server where the game data is stored through the internet line, a stable network environment is required.”
Instead of downloading 24GB for the game, streaming just allows you to download a small app and then you can stream the rest of the game with a strong internet connection. For now, the cloud version of the game has only been announced for Japan, so it remains to be seen if cloud streaming will be available worldwide to all Nintendo Switch owners.
