The rumors ended up being true after all because the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is indeed ditching the traditional single player campaign. Taking its place instead is a brand new Battle Royale mode called ‘Blackout’ that promises to add some new life into the COD franchise.
The Battle Royale mode will feature the biggest ever map in COD history. It will feature the same gameplay style of the Black Ops series, but everything will be bigger and better than ever. Land, sea and air vehicles are also playable as well as your favorite characters and weapons from previous Black Ops games.
The reason a Battle Royale mode is being added is thanks to the genre’s popularity with PUBG and Fortnite taking the world by storm. You have to admit, a Battle Royale mode is neat, although it’s sad they had to remove the single player mode to make it happen.
As always, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will also feature the traditional multiplayer and Zombies offerings as well. The multiplayer will somewhat have a narrative and will be 100 percent boots on the ground gameplay. As for Zombies, three maps are available at launch and it adds new characters and weapons too.
Anyway, Call of DutyL Black Ops 4 releases worldwide on October 12th, 2018 for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms. You can check out more in the several trailers posted down below.
