In recent history, we’ve seen a lot of video games be timed exclusives on one console but then gets released on another console at a later date. Well it looks like the new Spider-Man video game on PS4 will stay as an exclusive to Sony for the rest of time.
A fan asked Insomniac Games on Twitter when the new Spider-Man video game would be released on Xbox One. Insomniac Games answered with a very direct and blunt “never” and ended the conversation like that.
It’s not a silly question to ask since many other previous “exclusives” came out on more than one platform. Rise of the Tomb Raider and Dead Rising 4 were exclusive to Xbox One, but both games eventually got released on the PS4 one year later.
Likewise Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was a PS4 exclusive in 2017, but in 2018 the game will now be heading to the PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms this Summer.
As for Spider-Man, it seems as if Sony has struck a deal for the game to be 100 percent exclusive to the PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles. No other platform is going to get the game. So if you are a huge fan of the popular comic book hero, you’ll have to buy a PS4 or PS4 Pro to play his latest video game.
There’s still no release date for the new game, but an announcement is expected to take place later this week. Hopefully the release date does not coincide with the release of another AAA video game.
