Microsoft already announced several original Xbox games being backwards compatible now on the Xbox One X console. It does not stop there because a lot of Xbox 360 games will be getting updates so they look good for gamers playing them on the Xbox One X too.
The Xbox One X is a unique console because it does not only support the 4K resolution for newer games. Both original Xbox and Xbox 360 games can be upscaled to look good in 4K. Microsoft announced that Gears of War 2, Red Dead Redemption, Portal 2, Sonic Generations, Darksiders, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed are to get the Xbox One X enhancement treatment today.
Microsoft also released a video of Gears of War 2 looking at the many improvements that can be seen. Microsoft posted the following: “Experience Gears of War 2 like never before on Xbox One X via Backwards Compatibility, with 9x the pixel count, increased texture details, and improved anti-aliasing!”
Gamespot also posted on their own video looking at the 4K enhancements of Red Dead Redemption. Much like Gears of War 2, the game looks far smoother than it did originally on the Xbox 360. Anyway, you can check out both videos down below. Make sure to watch in HD to see all of the differences properly.
