God of War PS4 has been getting lots of great reviews (see our review) although it sounds like the game’s director Cory Balrog is interesting in tackling a new IP after the game’s public release. Whether that will happen or not remains to be seen as Sony is up to that decision.
Balrog was recently interviewed by YouTube channel Skill Up and in the video he discussed his own ambitions for the future. After the release of God of War PS4, Balrog wishes to take a break from game development and spend time with his family on a holiday.
Balrog then said he wishes to “create something on his own next” meaning he would rather work on a new IP than dive straight into a sequel to God of War PS4. He’s unsure if that will happen though because he has to convince Sony of his new idea and they might want to have other plans for him.
Sony likes new IP, although they might want to convince Balrog to work on a GoW sequel based on the number of good reviews it has been getting so far. When the game releases worldwide on PS4 on April 20th, 2018 there’s a good chance it will be one of the best selling video games of 2018 thus far.
