Despite the rough reception that Sea of Thieves has been getting from both critics and gamers, Rare still wants to continue supporting the game for the foreseeable future as said by Xbox Head Phil Spencer.
One of the main issues with Sea of Thieves so far is that there is a lack of content and no sense of direction for new players. Well it sounds like the game will have some improvements in the near future because Rare aims to not give up on the game anytime soon.
Phil Spencer tweeted his opinions on the game recently. He said: “Thanks. Not every game is for everyone, really proud of Rare, had a vision for next big IP, building inviting world with great social mechanics and strong plan to support the game for a long time. And the response is amazing, thanks for playing.”
Another person actually called out Sea of Thieves for lacking content at launch. Spencer again urged on Twitter for fans to wait because there will be a lot of post launch support. He said: “It’s about building a high quality accessible game that’s inviting to millions. Ensuring we’ve done all the work with our systems for strong post-launch support with a real plan for that. I think Rare has done that and players are responding.”
Hopefully the game’s future updates are extensive like how Hello Games expanded No Man’s Sky several months after launch. Anyway, Sea of Thieves is out now for Windows 10 PC and Xbox One.
