A new patch has been released for Nintendo Switch’s versions of NBA 2K18 and WWE 2K18. According to “Nintendo Policy”, the Switch versions of these games no longer have the screenshot feature for some reason.
As noted by a user on Reddit (via GoNintendo), a new patch for the games have disabled the screenshot feature for some reason. Here’s an answer the user got from a customer support employee from 2K Games.
“Thanks for contacting 2K Support today. Because of a new Nintendo policy that came with the 1.07 update, the screenshot function has unfortunately been removed from NBA 2K and WWE 2K games. I apologize for any inconveniences that this new change might cause. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.”
Other than this response from 2K Games, no other explanation has been given as to why the screenshot function no longer works. Some people on Reddit claim is has to do with licensing issues, although nothing official has been said from both parties.
This is an annoying feature to remove especially for games like NBA 2K and WWE 2K. People want to save screenshots if they do cool dunks in basketball or finishers in professional wrestling. It remains to be see if the screenshot feature will come back for NBA 2K19 and WWE 2K19 out later this year though.
