The Tomb Raider series started back in the ’90s and was made famous by being an awesome action adventure starring the popular Lara Croft character. The games were usually in third person to make action and puzzle solving easier for players to navigate. Well a new VR experience has been announced for the new movie taking the series in a first person perspective.
Warner Bros Pictures released the first trailer for Tomb Raider VR over on their official YouTube channel. The game is called “TOMB RAIDER VR – Lara’s Escape” and has scenes loosely based on the new movie starring Alicia Vikander coming out next month in cinemas worldwide.
Here’s a short description of the VR game: “A trap-filled tomb, armed with only your bow and climbing axe. Experience the adventure in Tomb Raider VR: Lara’s Escape – now available in the Oculus Gear VR Store.”
Bear in mind, this VR experience is really short so don’t expect to have hours of fun using it. That said, it makes you step inside the shoes of Lara Croft and see the type of dangerous obstacles that she has to face every time she’s either in a game or movie.
The Tomb Raider movie comes out in North America on March 16th, 2018. Warner Bros has high hopes for the film since video game movies are usually flop at the Box Office. Anyway, you can look at a short trailer for the VR experience posted down below.
