Shadow of the Colossus PS4 came out earlier this month for the PS4 and the game is already become a huge seller in the UK. Its launch on the PS4 is bigger than the original release of the game back in the PS2 era over a decade ago.
As reported by UKIE, Shadow of the Colossus PS4 was the best selling game of the week. This is impressive considering the fact that it’s a PS4 exclusive meaning it’s not available on any other platform.
More amazing is the fact that the game sold 73 percent bigger than the first week sales of the original launch of the game on PS2. This means more people are playing the game compared to before. Usually remakes sell less than the original, but this is a rare exception.
The fact that this remake is doing well means gamers like total remakes over just simple remasters. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was also a remake and that was one of the best selling games in the UK in 2017. HD remasters offer too little graphical differences to make them a must buy item.
This week sees EA Sports UFC 3 take the second spot which is the same position it held last week. The former winner Monster Hunter: World falls down to number three this week. On a worldwide standpoint though, Monster Hunter: World is still the best selling game of 2018 so far shipping 6 million copies already.
