Aside from a release date, not much is known about Red Dead Redemption 2 other than it will be a prequel to the 2010 video game. Well a new rumor has leaked that has given us more details on what the multiplayer mode might include and more.
This new rumor comes from a report by Trusted Reviews and their source has managed to leak several new details about Red Dead Redemption 2. The site had details as early as August 2017, but they decided to release them now knowing the info is now credible.
Anyway, one of the biggest new additions in this sequel is a Battle Royale mode for its online multiplayer offering. Other online modes include “Revive and Survive’ and ‘Money Grab’ modes”. The Battle Royale mode is probably similar to the likes of Fortnite and PUBG since that genre exploded in 2017.
Another change is that the game will allow you to play the single player campaign and multiplayer in both first person and third person perspectives. This is similar to the PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V that had both perspectives included as well. The first Red Dead Redemption game was strictly a third person game only.
A cool new feature is that your actions in the single player campaign will lead to different outcomes and even different missions. This makes the game less linear and will make sure the single player should have a lot of replay value if this feature ends up being true.
The single player will also have lots of side activities too such as fishing, herding, gold mining and poker is making a return as well.
Anyway, Rockstar itself has yet to officially confirm all of these details so take this as a rumor for now. Still, Rockstar has delayed the game on more than one occasion so there’s a chance the game will be packed full of new features that were not in the 2010 video game. Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on Xbox One and PS4 on October 26th, 2018.
