Thanks to the success of last year’s Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, plans are full ahead for the future of the franchise. According to a new rumor, we might see another game from everyone’s favorite Australian marsupial sometime in 2019 with even more plans going ahead after that.
According to Max Arguile, Licensing Manager of GB Eye, he revealed some interesting information about the future of Crash Bandicoot in the latest issue of Licensing Source Book Europe. It appears we will see more of the character as soon as next year, and he might appear in more platforms than just the PS4.
He said: “The new game was a huge success at retail with no marketing spend. Next year, it will be going broader (Switch and PC) and there will be another game in 2019. Activision has a five year plan for this and GB eye is delighted to be fully on board for all products.”
GB Eye made lots of merchandise for Crash Bandicoot last year including the likes of mugs, pins, and several more collectibles. It’s possible Mr Arguile may have spilled the beans early on Activision’s future plans for the popular character if this is true.
The N Sane Trilogy was a huge success and became one of the best selling PS4 exclusives last year. This is thanks to the character having a huge absence as we never got a new Crash video game in many years. Not to mention after Naughty Dog left, the quality of Crash games lowered.
Even though Naughty Dog won’t be involved in any new Crash games, developer Vicarious Visions did a good job with the remake and the Game Boy Advance versions of Crash back in the day.
