The next Pokemon game is expected to be released for the Nintendo Switch console, although nobody knows right now when it will be coming out. According to a recent job posting, development for the game could be much further than we think.
As spotted on the Pokemon Careers website, the developer is currently looking for a “Localisation Editor (6 month minimum contract) – Spanish” based in a location in London, United Kingdom.
The job description says: “We will be looking for a Localisation Editor in the coming months for Spanish. The Localisation Editor (6 -month fixed term contract minimum) is a member of the editing team and works closely with the other localisation editors, translators and project coordinators on all editorial facets of video games, and related materials (video game strategy guide, video game web site etc.) in Spanish. This will include a high level of knowledge regarding native slang, phraseologies, and nuances in Spanish.”
Pokemon on Nintendo Switch is sure to be a huge seller and the fact that localization is underway means the game is further along in development. A late 2018 release date is possible, although there’s a chance the game could come out in 2019 instead.
It’s likely this game is related to the Nintendo Switch since Nintendo has already released many Pokemon video games on the 3DS already. Not to mention Pokemon Go is already out on mobile devices, so it cannot be another phone game either.
For now, all we can do now is wait and speculate. Pokemon on Nintendo Switch could be one of the biggest game releases of all time and is sure to be a worldwide hit. Hopefully Nintendo announces something at E3 2018 about the future of the Pokemon franchise on the Switch console.
