Kingdom Hearts 3 was first announced at E3 2013, but Square Enix has taken a long time to reveal lots of details about the highly anticipated JRPG. Thanks to a long development cycle, more exciting details have been revealed with the game still expected to launch sometime later this year.
Japanese publication Famitisu (via KHInsider) has posted more additional info about the game that was not revealed at the D23 Japan Expo. It sounds like the game should still appeal to long time fans of the popular franchise.
It has been reported that the Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Olympus worlds are the first round of levels that you can visit in the game. 90 percent of these levels are already been complete by the development team.
The movie Tangled is a part of the middle part of the game and the team is around 60 to 70 percent complete of these worlds. The game is a whole is broken up into 3 parts and there will be around 10 worlds in total. It’s still unclear if Square Enix wants to add even more worlds, but 10 is looking like the final number as of now.
Some rare Heartless enemies in the game will be based on Japanese dessert puddings. They will be giant sized and you may have seen some of them already in the trailers.
The Gummi ship is customizable with accessories while a Beanstalk segment in the game will be like an old LSI game. LSI games are like the old LCD Tiger games with static images that move around the screen the mimic the illusion of “gameplay”.
These are just some of the details that were announced about Kingdom Hearts 3. The game is still expected to be released in the year of 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. No other platforms have been announced yet.
