Dragon Ball FighterZ has already shipped over 2 million copies as announced by Bandai Namco. It is one of the fastest selling fighting games in recent memory and is selling at a faster rate than other Dragon Ball video games too.
To be more exact, the game shipped faster than any Dragon Ball video game in history. Yes, this includes the recently released Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 as well. The game came out in North America, Europe and some parts of Asia on January 26th, 2018. It then was shipped to the rest of Asia and Japan on February 1st, 2018.
Not only are the sales impressive for the Dragon Ball franchise, but it is selling faster than many other fighting games that came out in 2017. It reached the 2 million mark faster than the likes of Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite just to name a few.
The 2 million unit mark includes both retail shipments as well as sales from digital stores such as Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace. The reason the game is doing well is because of a great marketing campaign plus the increased popularity of the Dragon Ball Super TV series.
The game is also doing well because of its amazing graphics and accessible gameplay. Bandai Namco is sure to be happy with the results that they must be thinking of a sequel in the near future. For now, we will just have to wait and see what is in store for DLC because the game has more than enough room to add some fighters that did not make the cut. Some characters that need to be in a video game include Jiren, Kale, Caulifa and more from the DB Super series.
