Before the release of Metal Gear Survive, Konami is going to stage yet another beta for the game shortly before its release date later this month. The game has a big online component which is why several betas need to be held before launch.
Konami announced the following details of the beta via the official website: “METAL GEAR SURVIVE BETA” will be available for 3 days from February 15 to 18th, 2018 on PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and Steam. The beta will include 3 missions across 2 maps in CO-OP mode. CO-OP can be played with up to four players online. During the beta, we will also offer special daily missions. Upon finishing creating your character, participants in METAL GEAR SURVIVE BETA will receive an in-game bonus in the full game. Don’t miss this last opportunity to play METAL GEAR SURVIVE early!”
The beta is available in Japan, North America, Europe and Asia. By participating in the beta, you will get access to several in-game bonuses. Some items in the game are also from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain which is neat.
An internet connection is required to take part in the beta, although PS4 owners will not need PlayStation Plus to take part. That said, you will need Xbox Live Gold if you plan on playing the beta on the Xbox One version of the game.
Metal Gear Survive is a Konami spinoff of the Metal Gear franchise. Even though it still uses the impressive Fox Engine, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima had nothing to do with its development. It will be interesting to see how well this game is received to the gaming public. Many fans have not forgotten how Konami cancelled the highly anticipated Silent Hills video game out of the blue.
