New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) did not exactly announce a new game, but several of its most famous stars will appear in the video game called Fire Pro Wrestling World.
As reported by ComicBook, NJPW made the announcement earlier this week. Some of the wrestlers already confirmed to appear in the game include Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and many more.
It was also revealed that a PlayStation 4 version of Fire Pro Wrestling World will be released later this year updated with the new NJPW roster. There’s still no exact release date for the PS4 version, but we will keep you updated.
If you want to play the game, it’s available now on PC via Steam. The NJPW wrestlers are not available in the game yet, but created versions are playable. The game is an old-school style wrestling title with 2D graphics. Don’t let the simplistic graphics fool you because the gameplay is super fun.
Thanks to the customization options, you can create any wrestler you want including past stars from WWE, WCW or ECW. NJPW is gaining ground though thanks to the promotion staging some of the best wrestling matches in recent memory.
If you are interested in NJPW, you will be happy to know that Wrestle Kingdom 12 is happening tomorrow. The big international match is the first time meeting between Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega. Thanks to the talents of both Canadian men, it could be an early MOTY contender for 2018.
Bear in mind, Chris Jericho’s appearance in NJPW is expected to be a one-off match so don’t expect to see his character model getting added to Fire Pro Wrestling World. If you love Jericho, you can always create him in the game or play WWE 2K18 instead.
