If you are a player that loves playing the game Paragon, you might want to log in and play as much of it as possible. This is because the game is shutting down for good in April by its developer Epic Games.
Epic Games posted the following message on the official Paragon website: “It’s with heavy hearts we’ve decided to close down Paragon. We truly appreciate everything you’ve put into Paragon. We received many passionate ideas for where to take the game; the outpouring of thoughtful suggestions is another testament to this incredible community.
After careful consideration, and many difficult internal debates, we feel there isn’t a clear path for us to grow Paragon into a MOBA that retains enough players to be sustainable. We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon. We have failed you — despite the team’s incredibly hard work — and we’re sorry.”
The last day you can play the game is April 26th, 2018. The main reason Epic Games is shutting the game down is due to decreasing player counts. Everyone is pretty much playing Fortnite and Epic Games is concentrating all of its efforts on that game instead.
If you spent money on Paragon, Epic Games is offering full refunds to every player. The game was playable on PC and PS4. Epic Games says player counts will further decrease so don’t expect to see more players in the final months of the game’s operation.
Although the MOBA genre is still popular, it seems as if modern gamers now prefer Battle Royale modes. Fortnite has over 40 million players right now while PUBG also has millions of players both on PC and Xbox One.
