Atari announced via a press release more details on its Ataribox console. This is the first console that the company will be releasing in over two decades since the Jaguar.
The console is being powered by an AMD customized processor with Radeon Graphics technology. The Ataribox is also more than just a gaming machine as it offers a full PC experience for the TV. You can stream, play music, browse and more.
The OS is Linux and the user interface will be tailored for the TV. The console will also launch with “with a large back-catalog of Atari classic games, and current titles from a range of studios“. More content is to be announced at a later date.
The expected price range for the console is $249-$299 USD with a targeted release date of Spring 2018. It will first be made available via the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform later this year.
